After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reed, the Bishop Manogue Miners were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over Galena. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bishop Manogue also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Bishop Manogue was led to victory by James Williams and Liam Sorensen. Williams scored 15 points along with two blocks, while Sorensen scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamahl Jackson, who scored six points along with two steals.
Bishop Manogue's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Galena, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-8.
Bishop Manogue will be playing at home against Damonte Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Damonte Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday. Galena won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Platteville at 11:00 a.m. on January 20th. Platteville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 845 points over their last 11 contests.
