Basketball Recap: Bloomington Central Catholic Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bloomington Central Catholic won the last time they faced Olympia, and Emme Hurie did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bloomington Central Catholic Saints blew past the Olympia Spartans 63-40 on Thursday thanks in part to Hurie, who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points in addition to six steals and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Wieduwilt, who posted eight points and three steals. Those three steals gave her a new career-high.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Bloomington Central Catholic, bringing their record for this year to 16-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26 points. As for Olympia, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomington Central Catholic has already played their next matchup (against Quincy Notre Dame), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Olympia will square off against Riverton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Olympia is facing Riverton at the right time seeing as Riverton is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
