Gunnison Valley is 0-10 against Duchesne since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gunnison Valley Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Duchesne Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Gunnison Valley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
Last Tuesday, Gunnison Valley lost to North Sevier at home by a decisive 57-43 margin. Gunnison Valley has not had much luck with North Sevier recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Gunnison Valley had strong showings from Rylee Bartholomew, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, and Bryler Blackburn, who scored six points along with five steals. Blackburn hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Duchesne suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Thursday. They were dealt a 70-40 defeat at the hands of North Summit. While losing is never fun, Duchesne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while North Summit is ranked seventh).
Gunnison Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Duchesne, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Gunnison Valley took a serious blow against Duchesne when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 64-20. Thankfully for Gunnison Valley, Kelsey Grant (who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
