The Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Wren 78-22. Christ Church Episcopal was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.
Raina McGowens was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven assists and four steals for Wren. The game was McGowens' 15th in a row with at least ten points. Olivia Randolph was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Christ Church Episcopal's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Wren, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Christ Church Episcopal will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brashier Middle College Charter at 6:30 p.m. Brashier Middle College Charter's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Christ Church Episcopal's offense will have their work cut out for Christ Church Episcopal. Wren and Southside will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Southside is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
