Centry Lundberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Westlake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-11 win over Pleasant Grove on Wednesday.
Emmri Chuchran was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Erica Morgan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Westlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Westlake's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Cedar Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Westlake struggles in that department as they've averaged .412. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
