Pioneer Valley recap September 24, 2013
Dane Stimbert of Lincoln ran for the longest rushing play in Pioneer Valley this season against Wheatland last week. Stimbert's team fell to the Pirates as he sprinted for 87 yards on the play and finished with 222 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Colfax beat Woodland 30-0,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Colfax's dynamic duo of Michael Wilson and Chas Reisinger proved to be unstoppable against the Wolves, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wilson threw for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns and Reisinger had 104 yards receiving. Chris Harshman helped Colfax's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 72 yards.
Tony Martello's team's dynamic duo of Wilson and Reisinger proved tough for Woodland to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Reisinger was the best receiver in the league this week as the Falcons beat Bert Salinas' team.
Wilson put up the best numbers through the air as Colfax bested the Wolves.
Stimbert was a beast in the backfield as Lincoln lost to Wheatland.
He was 18-29 with 3 interceptions.
Stimbert was the best running back in Pioneer Valley this week. Eddy Cobleigh also contributed to the rushing game with 64 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Falcons' Wilson and Reisinger have proven to be a lethal combination. Wilson has thrown for 1,099 yards this season, while Reisinger, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 22 catches for 401 yards. Stimbert from Ken Lowe's team leads the league in rushing with 490 yards.
Bear River led the league in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Highlands.
