It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Corner Canyon Chargers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 63-24 victory over Lehi. The victory was familiar territory for Corner Canyon who now have 11 in a row.
Corner Canyon was led to victory by Isaac Wilson and Bryton Brady. Wilson threw for 446 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes, while Brady gained 263 total yards and seven touchdowns. Brady's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Myles, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lehi's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jett Niu, who threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns. Niu hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Grayson Brousseau, who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Corner Canyon's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.6 points per game. As for Lehi, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Corner Canyon's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Skyridge at 2:30 p.m. on November 17th. Skyridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps National Rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Corner Canyon is ranked 18th). Lehi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
