Even though the Durant Lions scored an imposing 74 points on Tuesday, the Coweta Tigers still came out on top. Coweta slipped by Durant 75-74. That's another feather in the cap for Coweta, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Coweta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cade Ellison out in front who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Owen Mcelroy, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Coweta's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Durant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Coweta will square off against Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Memorial will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Durant will take on Sapulpa at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sapulpa presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Durant in Oklahoma (Sapulpa is ranked 139th, while Durant is ranked 329th).
