Dexter (Mo.) led 20-7 at the half.
The Bearcats saw their 13-point halftime lead fall to 12 entering the fourth.
When the two teams played each other last season, Dexter came away with a 68-20 victory.
Kennett has now lost three games in a row, including a 41-0 loss versus Paragould last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for DHS, which was coming off a 63-13 defeat at the hands of Caruthersville in its previous game. The loss was the third in a row for the Indians.
Kennett (1-4) will play a SE Missouri - Central game against Charleston next week, while Dexter (1-4) will take on New Madrid County Central also in a SE Missouri - Central game.
