In what's become a running theme this season, the Morrill Lions gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 47-25 margin over Sioux County. The victory was nothing new for Morrill as they're now sitting on four straight.
Pittman Ashwin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyler Fisher, who scored 13 points.
Loss or not, Sioux County got some senior leadership from Shane Gluth and William Skavdahl. Gluth scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Skavdahl. scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Gluth is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Cy Hughson was another key contributor, scoring no points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Morrill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Sioux County, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Morrill will take on Hyannis at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hyannis is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Sioux County, they will be playing at home against Edgemont at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Edgemont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
