Kingston is 0-3 against Potosi since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kingston Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Potosi Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Kingston has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 911 points over their last 13 matchups.
Kingston put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Bismarck as Kingston made off with a 65-39 victory. Given Kingston's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Bismarck is ranked 441st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Even though Potosi has not done well against Ste. Genevieve recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Potosi simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ste. Genevieve 68-35 at home. Potosi has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season.
Kingston pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Potosi, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Things could have been worse for Kingston, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-50 loss to Potosi in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Kingston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
