Fife managed to slip by Orting the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans came up short against the Cardinals on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Brett Marvel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Fife saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Hoots, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Fife's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Orting, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

While Fife had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
