The John Paul II Centurions lost against the Incarnate Word Academy Angels back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. John Paul II ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-43 walloping at the hands of the Angels. While losing is never fun, John Paul II can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1130th, while the Angels are ranked 309th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Incarnate Word Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Romanczyk, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. Romanczyk hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Lily Herandez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
John Paul II has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-6.
John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Incarnate Word Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
