In what's become a running theme this season, the Langham Creek Lobos gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cypress Park 72-18 at home. While fans of Langham Creek might be used to big wins, the 54-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Langham Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Heather Baymon, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Baymon is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 19 or more in the last six games she's played. Brooke Prevost was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Cypress Park had strong showings from Kamirah Jabbar, who scored four points along with seven rebounds, and Jaliyah Evans, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cypress Park struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Langham Creek racked up 14 assists.
Langham Creek's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Cypress Park, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.
Langham Creek will be playing at home against Cypress Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Langham Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Cypress Ranch likes a good challenge. Cypress Park will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Cypress Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 913th, while Cypress Falls is ranked 375th).
