Loyola Academy extended the longest winning streak in Chicago Catholic - Blue this week by beating Fenwick, 49-28. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Ramblers.
Mount Carmel took down St. Laurence 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Julius Holley was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 21 carries, he ran for 121 yards as Loyola Academy bested the Friars. Teammate Peter Pujals added to the ground attack by rushing for 75 yards.
Ford was the best wideout in the league this week as John Holecek's team beat Fenwick. Ford racked up six receptions for 124 yards. Kristopher Coker helped Loyola Academy's passing attack out by catching three balls for 96 yards.
John Kelley put up the best numbers through the air as St. Rita defeated Bishop McNamara. He finished with 10 completions for 197 yards and three touchdowns. Kelley's favorite target this week was Malik Space, who caught five passes for 97 yards.
The Ramblers' Pujals and Ford have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Chicago Catholic - Blue in both passing and receiving yards. Pujals has thrown for 1340 yards this season, while Ford, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 21 catches for 414 yards. Brandon Price from Providence Catholic leads the league in rushing with 540 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Caravan take on the Mustangs. Mount Carmel is in second place, while St. Rita is in fourth place.
Todd Kuska's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 921 from 982. The improvement was the result of 35-7 victory over the Fightin' Irish last week.
