The Mooseheart Red Ramblers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 70-50 loss at the hands of Unity Christian Academy. Mooseheart has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Mooseheart saw an underclassman step up: John McGowin scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tolu Erinolu, who scored nine points.
Unity Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donovan O'Neil, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists. O'Neil has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Shamar Coleman, who scored 25 points along with two steals.
Mooseheart now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Unity Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-6.
Mooseheart's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westminster Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Westminster Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Unity Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grace Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Grace Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
