On Friday Nestucca take on Gaston at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Nestucca have to be aching after a bruising 22-56 loss to Neah-Kah-Nie last Friday. Nestucca's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Mitchell Richwine, who picked up 100 yards on the ground and caught passes for 73 yards. In fact, with 11 tackles Richwine was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 6-52, which was the final score in Gaston's tilt against Jefferson. This makes it the second loss in a row for Gaston.
Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. The Nestucca defense got after the quarterback against Neah-Kah-Nie to the tune of eight sacks, so Gaston's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the match.
