The Hollis Christian Academy Eagles fell victim to the Branford Buccaneers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Buccaneers at home and fell 35-0.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Branford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Maddox, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Austin Malaguti, who gained 45 total yards and two touchdowns.
Hollis Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-6 record this season. As for Branford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hollis Christian Academy will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Pace at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Branford is on the road again on Friday and play against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
