Southern Fulton has gone 8-2 against Northern Bedford County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Southern Fulton Indians are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the Northern Bedford County Panthers at 1:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Monday, Southern Fulton made easy work of Everett and carried off a 10-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Joel Fitz was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Austin Mann was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Mark Fitz was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Southern Fulton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Everett only posted an OBP of .323.
Meanwhile, Northern Bedford County had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Southern Huntingdon County with a sharp 8-2 victory.
Like Southern Fulton, Northern Bedford County also got a great game from a two-way player: Reece Musselman. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Musselman was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wesley Horsh, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Bowers, who scored two runs and stole Two bases.
Southern Fulton couldn't quite finish off Northern Bedford County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Southern Fulton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
