The Moore Catholic Mavericks were the 50-41 winner over the Notre Dame Academy Gators when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Moore Catholic fell to Notre Dame Academy 53-47.
Moore Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brianna Caliri, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds, and Veronica Barbato who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barbato has scored all season. Emma Costanzo was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Sabrina Kraker was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds for Notre Dame Academy. Kraker is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Kasegrande, who scored eight points.
Moore Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Notre Dame Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Moore Catholic will take on South Bronx Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will be playing at home against Kennedy Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Notre Dame Academy is ranked 35th).
