Fairview came out on top against Holly Pond on Tuesday thanks in part to Ayda Payne's efforts. Payne did her part (and then some), striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit (and only one walk) for the 'W'. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Payne and Fairview will head out to face off against Southeastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Payne had to take a loss the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their contest back in April of 2022 7-1. Could another big game from her be enough to change the outcome this time?
