Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for West Limestone

West Limestone entered their tilt with Elkmont on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Red Devils get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Anna Hardiman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aubrey Bethune was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 13 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucee Legg, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

West Limestone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkmont only posted an OBP of .125.

West Limestone's victory bumped their record up to 25-1. As for Elkmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Limestone will challenge Huntsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elkmont, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Madison Academy at 5:00 p.m. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
