The Mesa Verde Mavericks came into Monday's game having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Sacramento Adventist by a score of 55-43 on Monday. The win was just what Mesa Verde needed coming off of a 70-41 defeat in their prior matchup.
Mesa Verde's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mathew Garcia led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Garcia also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Ryan Jorgensen was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
Mesa Verde's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-21. As for Sacramento Adventist, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-18.
