Northeastern has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Clinton Dark Horses at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Northeastern had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Whiteville 17-14.
Tyselle Spencer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 215 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Clinton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Nash Central 55-32. Fans of Clinton have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Northeastern pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-0.
