The Coleman Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Oconto Falls Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coleman is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Coleman came up short against Crivitz on Thursday, falling 10-1.
Coleman saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macy Nowak, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Nowak's first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oconto Falls). They blew past Marinette 15-5 on Friday. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 21st (when they won 13-2).
Katelyn Kurek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Oconto Falls let Izzy Otto and Amelia Danielczak run wild. Otto went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and three doubles, while Danielczak got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and five runs. Danielczak is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Laughrin, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Oconto Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Coleman's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Oconto Falls, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.
Coleman suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Oconto Falls in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
