The Cleburne County Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Beulah Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Monday, Cleburne County had just enough and edged out Glencoe 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Aiden Laminack made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Laminack was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Cade Shubert was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Gavin Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Beulah duked it out with Eufaula on Monday. The Bobcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since April 3, 2025.
Like Cleburne County, Beulah also got a great game from a two-way player: Jadin Hancock. He struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Hancock was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Troy Toungett, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Asher Arnett was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Beulah's record is now 4-1. As for Cleburne County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Cleburne County couldn't quite get it done against Beulah when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
