Swan Valley is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Bearcats a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Swan Valley Vikings will take on the Bridgeport Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 59 points the game before, Swan Valley were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 67-22 loss at the hands of Frankenmuth. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Swan Valley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Bridgeport's 20-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Freeland at home and fell 61-31. While losing is never fun, Bridgeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while the Falcons are ranked 26th).
Swan Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Swan Valley lost to the Bearcats at home by a decisive 70-56 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Swan Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
