The Tri Titans waltzed into their game Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Anderson Prep Academy with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. With that win, Tri brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
Tri got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eli Murphy out in front who scored six points along with six steals and five assists. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Cornelius, who scored 19 points along with four steals.
Tri has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Anderson Prep Academy, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Wes-Del at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wes-Del focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday. Anderson Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frankton at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Frankton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anderson Prep Academy in Indiana (Frankton is ranked 106th, while Anderson Prep Academy is ranked 431st).
