The Redmond Mustangs posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They skirted past Juanita 61-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Redmond's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iha Kasam, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Kasam is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Locati, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Redmond and bumps their season record up to 8-11. As for Juanita, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redmond will challenge Woodinville at 6:50 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Woodinville's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while Redmond has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Juanita on the road again on Friday and play against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
