The Lakeside School Chiefs won the last time they faced the Evangel Christian Academy Lions, and things went their way on Thursday too. Lakeside School breezed by Evangel Christian Academy at home to the tune of 60-31. Given Lakeside School's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Evangel Christian Academy is ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Seaborn, who scored 22 points. Chloe Helms was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Lakeside School now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-6.
Lakeside School's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Calvary Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Calvary Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday. Evangel Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Crenshaw Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Crenshaw Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
