The Daleville Broncos will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Union Rockets at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Daleville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Indiana Math & Science Academy North 64-25 at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Daleville as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Daleville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addi Gothrup, who scored 27 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gothrup has scored all season. Olivia Pratcher was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten steals.
Meanwhile, Union had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over Centerville.
Union's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Glory Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Ellis hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaitlynn Holderman, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Daleville's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Union, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Everything went Daleville's way against Union in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Daleville made off with a 68-48 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Union's Honour Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Daleville to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
