Baseball Recap: Ramsay Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Ramsay had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Shades Valley Mounties with a sharp 20-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Zion Rice was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Armani Rogers, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Ramsay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shades Valley only posted an OBP of .333.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ramsay will face off against St. Clair County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Shades Valley, they will challenge Benjamin Russell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
