4A District 2 recap October 29, 2013
Ada extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating Harrah, 29-24. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Ada made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,338 from 2,597. The advance stemmed from a 29-24 victory over the Panthers last week.
Tyler Gibson was a force in the backfield as Mannford topped Santa Fe South.
Gibson was a passing and rushing force as the Pirates topped the Saints.
Patrick McKaufman threw for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns.
McKaufman put up the best numbers through the air as Douglass defeated McLoud. McKaufman's favorite target this week was Isiah Shaputis, who caught 5 passes for 149 yards.
The Trojans' McKaufman and Shaputis led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-5 quarterback McKaufman has thrown for 1,708 yards this season, while Shaputis has 26 catches for 687 yards. Gibson from Mannford leads the league in rushing with 1,370 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Harrah takes on Douglass. The Panthers are in third place, while Willis Alexander's team is in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Harrah takes on the Trojans. The Panthers have allowed 100 points this season, while Douglass has given up 95.
Glenpool led 4A District 2 in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Tecumseh.
