After five lead changes,
Stagg (Stockton, Calif.) took the lead for good when
Wayne Brooks thew a touchdown to
Smith Darius with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Manteca (Calif.) 51-47 on Saturday.
The score was knotted at 14 heading into the half. The Delta Kings took the lead for good on a Brooks touchdown pass to Darius in the fourth quarter.
The Buffaloes'
Ryan Fox was the standout player for his team. The senior quarterback threw four touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to seven on the year.
Stagg's standout player in the win was Brooks. The junior quarterback threw six touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
SHS got revenge for last year's 32-12 loss to Manteca with the victory.
With the win the Stockton school extended its winning streak to four games.
Manteca (1-2) goes up against Kimball in a Valley Oak game matchup next week, while Stagg (4-0) locks horns with Bear Creek in a non-conference game.
