Softball Recap: Woodcreek's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

After flying high against Spanish Springs on Saturday, Woodcreek came back down to earth. Woodcreek came up short against the Reed Raiders on Saturday, falling 8-2. The Timberwolves were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Raiders' pitchers proved too tough.

Woodcreek saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maryn Macneil, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was Macneil's first of the season. Another was Chloe Preuss, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

With the loss, Woodcreek broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4. As for Reed, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3-2.

Coming up, Woodcreek will be playing in front of their home fans against Roseville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodcreek 3.1, Roseville 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Reed, they will head out to challenge Damonte Ranch at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
