Compass Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 49-7 victory over the Sterling City Eagles. For Compass Academy, this counts as revenge for the 41-38 win Sterling City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Compass Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braxton Morris, who picked up 120 receiving yards and three scores. Morris was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Valois Terecero, who rushed for 143 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.
Compass Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Brady Smith, Madden Peterson, and Canyon Bownds, who each picked up one sack apiece. Ryian Farris got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
