The Montverde Academy Regional Eagle suffered their biggest defeat since November 15, 2023 on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-57 walloping at the hands of Southland Christian. Montverde Academy Regional has struggled against Southland Christian recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Southland Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JOMAR COLLAZO, who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that COLLAZO scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Derek Lopez, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Montverde Academy Regional has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Southland Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
