Calhoun Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Regents Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  9-3  back in February.
 Carsen Stegall was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  four earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits. Stegall was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Caiden Farmer and  Jake Allen stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Farmer  scored a  run while going 1-for-3, while  Allen  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Allen has posted since back in April of 2024.  Ethan Parker also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Calhoun Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Regents, their victory was  their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 6-0.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun Academy will host Central Holmes Christian  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Regents will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Calhoun Academy at 6:00  p.m.  on March 25th.
