The Heritage Academy Heroes waltzed into their matchup Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down BASIS - Scottsdale 65-49. That's another feather in the cap for Heritage Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
BASIS - Scottsdale lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nithish Prakash, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Blake Tropper was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
BASIS - Scottsdale struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Heritage Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Premier at 5:00 p.m. on December 19th. Premier comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, they will head out on the road to face off against BASIS - Mesa at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
