The Mary Persons Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 32 points or more this season. They breezed by Pike County at home to the tune of 73-41. Winning may never get old, but Mary Persons sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Pike County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maliyah Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Aubree Reese who scored seven points along with four steals. Holmes continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Kerrah Foster was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Mary Persons' win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for Pike County, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Mary Persons will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Lamar County at 3:00 p.m. As for Pike County, they will head out on the road to face off against Peach County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
