Baseball Recap: Boling Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Boling owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Hitchcock 1-0. The one-run effort marked Boling's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Gage Zahn's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Boling saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Ruiz, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Boling pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Hitchcock, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

Boling will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hitchcock: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
