The Riverside Pirates will be playing at home against the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Riverside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
Riverside scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They enjoyed a cozy 59-42 win over Troy Christian.
Riverside can attribute much of their success to Emma Saylor, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Reaghan Mcdaniel, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Mcdaniel scored 15 or more points. Avery Perk was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 9-9 at halftime, Lehman Catholic was not quite Perry's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Lehman Catholic was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 27-26 to Perry.
Riverside's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Lehman Catholic, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Riverside was able to grind out a solid victory over Lehman Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 38-27. Does Riverside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lehman Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
