The Viewmont Vikings will square off against the Deseret Peak Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Deseret Peak will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Viewmont extended their winning streak to seven on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over Olympus.

Marlee Moser was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricki Smith, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double.
Viewmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Deseret Peak never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Green Canyon 15-0.
Jordan Pomikala and Vaoahi Fonua did most of the damage at the plate: Pomikala went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Fonua went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Fonua continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sierra Long, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Deseret Peak's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Viewmont, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
Deseret Peak's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Viewmont has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Deseret Peak, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Viewmont's sizable advantage in that area, the Golden Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
