B District 2 (8 Man) recap Oct. 16, 2012
Fox extended the longest winning streak in B District 2 (8 Man) this week by beating Central, 50-22. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Paoli and Waurika played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Paoli eventually emerging with a 36-34 victory. D.J Moore threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns and ran for four yards in the win.
Kevin Harris was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 206 yards as the Bronchos bested Geary. Kade Taylor also contributed to the rushing game with 59 yards on the ground.
CHITWOOD was the best wideout in B District 2 (8 Man) this week as the Longhorns defeated the Bison. CHITWOOD racked up two receptions for 93 yards. SAM HARRIS helped Alex's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Conner Johnson of Allen is the league leader in passing yards this season with 780. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, Central's Harris has rushed for 1071 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hunter Downs. The Cyril star has 17 catches for 380 yards.
Cyril's Downs is a mere 58 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Downs has rushed for 942 yards on 98 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alex takes on Mark Perry's team. At the moment, Matt Brand's team is in second, while the Bronchos are in fourth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Longhorns and Central face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Alex comes in having scored 358 this season, while the Bronchos have scored 339. The Longhorns scored 66 points last week as they topped Chad Elerick 's team.
Oklahoma Christian Academy took down Macomb 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
