It was a good run, but the South Harrison Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Clay-Battelle by a score of 52-49. South Harrison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clay-Battelle apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Halle Bland, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The matchup was Bland's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalee Wright, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
South Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Clay-Battelle, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.
South Harrison will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Magnolia at 11:00 a.m. on January 13th. Magnolia comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Clay-Battelle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paden City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
