The Jefferson Raiders will head out to face off against the Mt. Rainier Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Beamer with a sharp 17-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.
Jefferson got a great performance from Delaney Merritt as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jesabella Arceo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amariah Moore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .762. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Mt. Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Tahoma, falling 24-0.
Jefferson's record is now 7-10. As for Mt. Rainier, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Mt. Rainier's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jefferson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Mt. Rainier, though, as they've been averaging 12.7 hits. Given Jefferson's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
Jefferson got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 against Mt. Rainier by a conclusive 19-5 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
