 Jase Murphy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out seven batters over  4.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits. Minico is 3-1 when  Murphy allows one or  fewer  earned runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Murphy was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news, Minico let  Cody Carlson and  Jalyx Guzman run wild. Carlson  went 1-for-2 with one  triple and two  RBI, while  Guzman  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.  Jayden Sanders also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Minico's win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 6-7. As for Burley, their  loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
Minico will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
