It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Jefferson County Tigers can now relate to. Their rough 36-14 loss to the Tigers on Friday might stick with them for a while. Jefferson County's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jabari Watson, who threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Kamario Taylor was his usual excellent self, rushing for 40 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 105 yards and two touchdowns for Noxubee County. Noxubee County also got a significant boost from Martavius Wicks, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 110 yards.
Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Noxubee County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Jefferson County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Noxubee County is on the road again on December 2nd and play against Winona at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Winona is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
