The First Christian Lions lost against the Westwood Christian Warriors back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. First Christian was the victim of a rough 66-43 loss at the hands of Westwood Christian.
Westwood Christian was led to victory by Tripp Kirkland and Brett Bozeman. Kirkland scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Bozeman scored 13 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Thomas, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
First Christian's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Westwood Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Christian will take on Northside Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gainesville Christian Community at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th.
