Last Wednesday, Badin took their match at home with ease, bagging a 64-34 win over Edgewood. Given Badin's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Edgewood is ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mercy McAuley can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 34-21 win over East Central. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Mercy McAuley has managed all season.
Mercy McAuley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haley Murphy led the charge by scoring six points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Enginger, who scored four points along with three steals.
Badin's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Mercy McAuley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
